Artist's Comments

First off, I am in love with the garment. I love the way it feels and the way it looks.

It is made of maroon/red/rasberry waffle cloth and lined with thin orange cotton knit. The pattern is my own. The sleeves have strips of the lining fabric apliqued to them, the strips were slashed before the were applied, then after I put them on and saw how boring the slashing looked so I used safty pins (classic punk/emo, I know) to turn the slashing into bows. (kind of bows... w/e) Instead of putting in a zipper I added an empire waist draw string. however, this doesn't really keep the edges of the hoodie shut so I've been using a safty pin for that too, I'll probably add buttons eventually. I'm looking for the right kind.

Coolest hoodie EVER. I love the colors and the drawstring closure idea.

Thank you. the color scheme was a bit of luck actually. I went to the store to look for a lining fabric and this was one of three cotton knits that they had. I was in the store just hoping it would look good!

It's very cute... and has a sort of medieval feel to it. I likes! :D

Yeah, alot of people have been saying that it look medievil or renasaince ish to them. I'm really happy about that though I didn't see it myself right off.

I think these colors are a bit of fabulous together. And the drawstring is a great idea! Sort of gives it a bit o' the historical costume influence while still letting it look all modern-like.

actually, you cant see it but the back of the hood has gathers like an 18th century cloak. I always try to add one historic detail to everything I make.
