Description
French Canadian costume for French and Indian War period (1750's).
Consists of: shift with gathered cuffs, stays, 3 petticoats (should be a little shorter). Bed gown made of brown linen (this stuff is so soft!) the instructions that I used to make this are are from Beth Gillgun's book "Tidings from the 18th century," Lappet cap taken from period engravings and with the lappets folded up and tied with ribbon, bibbed apron made from diagrams in Baumgarten's "costume close-up."

This is really lovely, I'm interested in researching how dress from Quebec and from Acadia (the Maritimes, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia in particular) differ from each other.
